Sign of success
There are moments that show us how much we have evolved and show us that we are winning the battle.
One of those moments of mine was during a flight.
I travel a lot by plane. Whether for consultations, projects or lectures, or for breaks, it's not an exaggeration to say that I fly twice a month.
But, coincidentally, I was off flying for the first few months of my weight loss journey. By the time I started flying again I was no longer obese.
At that point, I was obviously feeling lighter and more agile - how else would you expect after losing almost 30kg?! - but not enough to notice any difference at the airport until I got on the plane.
Even though I was flying a low-cost airline, when I got on the plane everything seemed bigger, more uncluttered. It seemed that they had increased the size of the plane!
I wasn't sure I was feeling that way. I didn't realize it until I sat down in my seat.
The seat was no longer cramped, I had legroom, I didn't have to stretch the seatbelt almost to the max to get it tight!
It was one of the moments when I realized how much I had evolved and conquered obesity.
I had lost so much weight, so much bulk that even low-cost planes became comfortable!!!!🤣
It's these little nuances, little changes, little big wins that only those who carry a lot of weight understand.
The cherry on top of the cake was realizing that if I had "put" the weight I had already lost on a suitcase and tried to check it in, it would be so heavy that they wouldn't allow the suitcase on the plane.
It is not as difficult to stop being obese as you might imagine. It is possible to manage to stop feeling cramped, too heavy, too big.
If I made it, have no doubt: anyone can!
