Simplify healthy eating

Do you know why I love the wok?

I am a person of few equipment in the kitchen, but the wok is something I really don't do without. Why?

  • Because in 10-15 minutes I have a colorful vegetable-based side dish or even a complete dish, easily and without much requirement.

  • Because the taste and nutritional value of the food are not impaired as much as with other methods/equipment.

My suggestion:

Use chopped onion, olive oil, a little fleur de sel, and your favorite spices as a base . Then it's whatever's in the fridge! Include variety and color. In the picture I share, there were mushrooms, broccoli, red cabbage, carrots, peppers. That's it - that's it, simple and nutritious!

Adding color to your day doesn't take long.

If you have a wok with a lid, you can simmer it over low heat while you do other tasks - once in a while, you should stir it anyway, or turn it in that theatrical way we've all seen someone do.

The important thing is not to overcook the vegetables, just leave them the texture you like best. For example, in the case of red cabbage, I like it to be relatively soft (to eat it raw/hard, I would make a salad).

It is also possible to add other ingredients such as oleaginous fruits, nutritional yeast, seaweed, coconut oil, or even soy sprouts as you see in the picture. This way you can add other flavors to the dish.

To complete the dish, you could add tofu, or quinoa, or legumes such as beans or lentils (citing quick, vegetarian options), or even as the ideal accompaniment to meat or fish.

Tip: Add the vegetables in order of hardness. First those that are hardest and need the most time to cook.

With a frying pan/saw pan would you do the same?

Do, it would, but it wasn't the same. The wok has a concavity that allows it to cook the food more evenly without burning it. In a sauté pan, at some point you have some of the vegetables burned and others uncooked. Try it out and show us the results.
